Regina is from Chicago, Illinois, and an alumnus of the Chicago Public School System where she graduated with honors. She received a bachelor's degree in political Ssience from the University of South Carolina and a law degree from the Emory University School of Law. Regina lives in Lilburn, Georgia with her husband and two sons.

Tuwanda is from Rochester, New York, and has lived in Gwinnett County for about 24 years. She earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Syracuse University and a law degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law. Tuwanda is an active member of Friendship Baptist Church in Duluth, Georgia. She has a husband, and together they have two adult children.

Tuwanda is the deputy county attorney for Gwinnett County. Prior to her current role, she has served as a deputy county attorney within the Gwinnett County Department of Law, and practiced section 1983 civil litigation with the City of Atlanta Law Department. Overall, she has 31 years of legal experience.
