Trey is from Southwest Fort Worth. He is married to his wife Celeste, and they have a son. He earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Texas Wesleyan University, a master's degree in criminal justice from Texas Christian University, a master's degree in sociology from Texas A&M University-Commerce, and a master's degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in educational psychology at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
