Selvena Brooks-Powers

Selvena Brooks-Powers is from Southeast Queens. She has a bachelor's degree from Wilberforce University and a master's degree in international law from New York University. She lives with her husband, their daughter, and dog in Rockaway Beach.

Selvena is currently a New York City Council Member representing District 31. She was elected in a special election in February 2021 and is serving her first full term.
