- Village trustees must work and compromise with each other to manage village affairs. Collectively, the Village Board mange the village's finances, infrastructure, taxation, and more.
- Village trustees are tasked with ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of village residents.
- Village trustees are elected in non-partisan elections.
