Tyree is the town administrator for Enfield. He previously served as the chief of police for Enfield. 

Tyree is currently the sheriff of Halifax County. He was appointed to fill the unexpired term of former Sheriff Wes Tripp in July 2022. He won the Democratic primary election in May 2022. Before becoming sheriff, Tyree served as the police chief of the Enfield Police Department and as the town administrator for the Town of Enfield.

I have a master s degree in public administration, bachelor s degree in criminal justice, am certified in city and county management from the UNC School of Government. I have management training from Wilson and Wake Tech community colleges. I have two advanced law enforcement certifications.

He lives with his wife, Arnette, their son, Jaden, and their daughter, Avery, in Enfield.

He previously worked at the Enfield Police Department, where he joined as a captain and later became chief of police in 2015, and served as town manager for the Town of Enfield starting in December 2020.
