- The county superintendent of schools oversees and manages public schools in the county, maintains homeschool records, supervises rural schools, and oversees school transportation services. 
- The county superintendent manages the county's public school budget and ensures proper tracking and reporting. 
- They are responsible for all official record-keeping, including the history of the schools. 
- The county superintendent is elected for a four-year term. However, if someone vacates the seat before their term is over, a candidate may run to fill a role until the last person's term expires. This would be considered an 'unexpired term.'
