County Common Pleas Judge

- There are 11 people elected to the County Council. The County Council creates county laws and decides things like the rates of property and sales taxes, zoning rules, and economic development programs.
- County council members are responsible for preparing and passing the county budget, which determines how much funding goes to public services, such as law enforcement, health departments, road repair, and county building maintenance.
- Members are elected to 4-year terms in partisan elections. This position only exists in Cuyahoga and Summit counties. 
- In Cuyahoga County, members have a salary of around $60,000 and each member is elected from a district. 
- In Summit County, members have a salary of around $31,000. There are 8 districts represented by specific members each and 3 members are elected at-large.

- The county engineer must be licensed and registered as both a professional engineer and a surveyor.
