Tracey is an Atlanta native who grew up in Tucker, Georgia. She earned a bachelor of business administration degree with a concentration in marketing from Georgia State University. She also earned a master of art in English from Kennesaw State University with a concentration in professional writing. Tracey has three children.

Tracey worked in the field of communication representing radio, newspaper, advertising agencies and as a feature writer before becoming self-employed in 1995. She owns Creative Results, Inc. Since 2018, she also works as a commercial real estate agent.

Tracey Viars is currently a city council member. She was first elected in 2018 and has been in office for two terms.
