Sarah has lived in Varnell for four years. She lives with her husband Larry. They have two children, and four grandchildren. Sarah studied Special Education and Visual Arts at Georgia State University and Valdosta State University. She served on the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission for many years. She is the president of the Highlands Garden Club.

Sarah has experience in real estate, non-profit management and fundraising.
