Matthew and Erica live within the Buford Public Schools system where their two children are being raised. Matthew earned a degree from the University of Georgia in political science. He began his career by executing residential land acquisitions for Bowen Family Homes. He also co-founded the Ryan Daniel Scholarship Fund in memory of his childhood friend.

Matthew Peevy was the co-founder of the Mitigation Resource Group, and has also formed Blueway, an environmental consulting, brokerage, land aquisition, and construction firm.

Matthew Peevy is currently a Board of Education Member representing Buford City Schools School Board. He was elected in 2019 and has served one term.
