Tom Hart served as a member of Doravill city council for one term, from 2005-2009. He previously ran in the mayoral races four times, but did not win.

- The mayor also hires the Police Chief, Fire Chief, and city department heads, such as City Planning, Parks & Recreation, and Transportation.
