William earned his associate's degree in civil engineering from Yakima Valley College.

William currently works as a geographic information systems analyst for Aspect Consulting LLC. He also worked for the City of Ellensburg as a mapping/CAD technician, GIS specialist, engineering technician, and a GIS coordinator/telecom engineer.

William Longmire's campaign for city council member is his first entry into politics.
