Timothy was born and raised in Arizona and attended Arizona State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in history and political science. He later received a law degree from Notre Dame Law School and is currently completing a master's of law from Georgetown University Law Center.

Timothy practices international and military operational law as a member of the U.S. Navy Reserve and was selected for promotion to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He has served in the U.S. Army, including a deployment to Afghanistan in 2012, and later joined the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps as an attorney. He has worked as an International Law instructor in Newport, RI, providing human rights training to foreign nation partners.

Timothy Michael Stringham's campaign for County Recorder in Maricopa County is his first entry into politics.

Plans to ensure voting is "safe, secure and convenient" and that each vote is counted "fairly and transparently."

The candidate's website says, "Maricopa County has over 2.5 million voters - largest enough to provide 62% of all votes in the state of Arizona. Even in 2024, Arizonans still face obstacles to voting, such as distance to polling locations, election worker shortages, or challenges in registering to vote for those with no permanent address."
