Scott has lived in Gilbert since 1988 with his wife, EJ, and their 5 children. He holds a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University and a master's in public administration from the University of Colorado. 

Scott was a parks and recreation manager, founder of the Riparian Institute and former director of planning and zoning for the Gilbert. He has focused on land use, city planning, and sustainability and helped develop the Gilbert Riparian Preserves. 

Scott Anderson is currently a member of the Gilbert City Council. He was elected in 2016 and is serving his second term.
