Cody grew up in Tempe, AZ, and graduated from McClintock High School. He is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in public policy with a focus in sustainability at Arizona State University. Cody is a co-founder of the Arizona Green Party (AZGP) Youth Caucus and has been previously elected to AZGP's State Committee as an alternate delegate to the Green Party of the United States' (GPUS) National Committee.

Cody is currently employed as a server in the restaurant industry.
