Andy earned a bachelor's degree in Asian studies from Brigham Young University, a master's degree in political science from Arizona State University, and a law degree from the University of Arizona. He and his family have lived in Gilbert, Arizona for 35 years.

Andy worked as practicing attorney licensed in Arizona, Washington, and New Mexico.

Andy Biggs currently serves as a U.S. Representative in Arizona 's District 5. He was elected in 2016 and is serving his fourth term. He was chairman of the House Freedom Caucus from 2019 to 2021 and is currently the co-chair of the Border Security Caucus, vice chair of the Western Caucus, and co-founder of the bipartisan War Powers Caucus. Before Congress, he served as an Arizona state representative for 8 years (4 terms) and the Arizona State Senate for 6 years (3 terms), including a term as State Senate President starting in 2012.
