Regina grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in computer systems from Bernard M. Baruch College and a Master of Arts in political science from Clayton State University. 

Regina previously has worked with Georgia Tech's Enterprise Innovative Institute and Advance Technology Development Center. Additionally, she is an adjunct professor and a children's book author.

Regina Lewis-Ward was elected to the Georgia General Assembly in 2020 and represents Georgia's 109th District. She serves on the state Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, Banks and Banking, Interstate Cooperation, and Energy, Utilities, & Telecommunications committees. Previously, she joined the Stockbridge City Council in 2014. She is a former member of the Georgia House Minority Whip team and past chair of the Henry County Democratic Committee.
