Stanely earned a bacherlor's degree from Morehouse College. Stanley lives in East Macon, Georgia. Stanley has served as an elder at Washington Avenue Presbyterian Church, Vice President of the Belvedere Manor and Weaver Heights neighborhood assocation, and as chairman of the Macon film commission. 

Stanley is self-employed at Stewart Communications of Macon. He has previous experience working in the mayor's office of workforce development.
