Jaha is originally from Sacramento, CA, and moved to Atlanta in 1990, graduating from Benjamin E. Mays High School. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry and Doctorate of Dental Surgery, both from Howard University, and a specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry and master’s degree in oral sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Jaha resides in Smyrna with his wife and their three children. He serves as a church deacon and teacher at Renaissance Church of Christ in South Fulton.

Taniesha is from Michigan. She holds an MBA in international business and a Master's of Public Administration in government and management, both from DeVry University. She currently serves as a volunteer Track and Field Coach with the Cobb County Police Department.
