Steve earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and two master's degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and George Washington University. Steve and his wife, Mary, have two adult children and are active at Christ our King & Savior Catholic Church.

Steve served for 22 years in the U.S. Navy.

Steve Broadbent has served on the Johns Creek City Council for nearly 6 years and was appointed as a Deputy Assistant Secretary at the Department of the Treasury during President George H.W. Bush's administration. He was also appointed by Governor Kemp to the Board of Directors for the Georgia Department of Community Affairs in 2019, a position he continues to hold. Additionally, he has held the role of Vice Chairperson on one of Georgia's largest Development Authorities for three years.
