Douglas County School System: Ms. Ruth Morgan

Ruth has lived in Douglasville for 35 years, and has been a longtime attendant of Golden Memorial United Methodist Church.

Ruth was a civil servant for the Department of Defense for 20 years. She also had a 13 year career with the Department of Children and Family Services, as a special education and substitute teacher for the Douglas County School System, and works on the Douglasville Zoning Board.

Johnnie Ruth Morgan is currently a board member for the Douglas County School Board District 1. She was appointed in 2023 and is serving her first term.

She earned her bachelor's degree in special education and teaching from the University of South Florida, her master's degree in elementary education and teaching from Kaplan University, and her educational specialist degree as well as her Doctor of Education degree from Liberty University. She is married and has children.

Tameka is currently an assistant principal within the Paulding County School District, specifically for Sweetwater Elementary School. She previously worked as an assistant principal for the Douglas County School System, a teacher for Douglas County Public Schools, and a special education teacher within the Douglas County School System.
