Sandra earned a bachelor's degree in communications from Murray State University. She is married to Ed, and they have 3 children. 

Sandra is president of the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce. She previously worked in public affairs at Wesvaco. She served as chair of the Kentucky Manufacturers Association and currently serves on the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Board and as chair of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executive Association.
