Kentucky, Gov Beshear Appoints Gerina Whethers Commonwealth’s Attorney for Jefferson County

Gerina earned a bachelor's degree in political science and a law degree from the University of Louisville. She is an executive board member of the Louisville Chapter of the NAACP.

Gerina worked as the secretary at the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet prior to her appointment. She also worked as a prosecutor for the Jefferson County Attorney's Office. She was the executive director of the Office of Senior Protection and Mediation and the Office of Victims Services at the OAG.

Gerina Whethers is Jefferson County's commonwealth's attorney. She was appointed in 2023 and is running for her first full term.
