Matthew lives in Louisville with his wife, Micah, and their 3 children. He graduated from the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville School of Law.

Matthew has practiced law for more than 27 years, starting as a clerk and later a prosecutor at the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office, eventually becoming the first assistant county attorney. He served as interim general counsel at TARC and was appointed chief of public services for Louisville Metro Government. He is currently the general counsel and community relations director for the Jewish Community of Louisville, Inc.
