Benjamin grew up in the Highlands neighborhood in Louisville. He currently resides there with his wife, Theresa, and their three children.

Benjamin is Deputy Director in the Office of Research and Innovation at the University of Louisville. He has previously served as the CEO of the Kentucky YMCA, Director of the Greater Louisville Project, and started the Microsoft Future of Work Initiative to diversify Louisville’s tech talent.
