Brad graduated from Snyder High School, then earned his bachelor's degree in mathematical economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point, a master's degree in policy management from Georgetown University, and a master's degree in military studies from the Marine Corps University.

Kim earned her bachelor's degree in economics from The George Washington University and a master's degree in regional planning and development from Cornell University. 

Kim has experience as the Director of Sanford Health, a health care nonprofit. She additionally has been a self-employed consultant, Vice President of State and Federal Relations at South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations, Region VIII Director of the US Department of Health and Human Services, and Workforce and Professional Development Project Director at Montana State University. 

Kim Gillan ran for State Senator in the State of Montana Legislature in 2004 and won. She served in this position as Minority Whip for two terms. Kim also ran for State Representative in the Montana State House of Representatives in 1996 and won. She served in this poistion as Minority Leader for two terms.
