Brain graduated from the University of Chicago, and holds a Master's in Tax Law from New York University, and a Master's in History from Montana State University. He is married to his wife, Betty. He served as a member of the city planning board and as Chairman of the Bozeman Park & Recreation Board. 

Brian is a tax attorney. He previously worked for his own practice, and as a teaching assistant at Montana State University, and a substitute maintenance the Bozeman schools.

Esther Fishbaugh was born and raised in a farming community north of Great Falls, Montana. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Parks, Recreation and Leisure Facilities Management from the College of Great Falls, and a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology from Montana State University.
