Jeff earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Clemson University. 

Jeff is currently the transportation engineering division manager at Mercer Design Group, a member of Mills River's planning board, as well as an adjunct professor at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College.

Jeff is retired from a career with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
