Robert grew up in Moore County and attended Pinecrest High School. He earned his bachelor's degree in history and sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He lives in Pinehurst with his wife, Linda. They have 3 children and 2 grandchildren.

Robert previously worked as an attorney, a high school social studies teacher, and as a writer for The Pilot Newspaper.

Robert M. Levy currently serves as a County Board of Education Member in Moore County. He is currently the chairperson of the board of education.
