He is married to his wife, Karen, and has 2 children. He is an ordained minister and a pastor at Freedom Baptist Church in Ayden. 

Worth works as a teacher at Pitt County Schools and owns a beekeeping business. He previously worked as the Associate Superintendent for Education Programs and Services at Pitt County Schools. He wrote a book titled "From the Ground Up: a Common Sense Approach to Building a Foundation for High Student Achievement."
