Sophia is originally from Chapel Hill, and lives in Wilson. She attended Chapel Hill High School, then earned her certification in French from UNC Chapel Hill.

Sophia is currently an English teacher. Previously, she was a French teacher at Hunt High School and other middle and high schools in the Durham Public School system. Beforehand, Sophia taught English at a public university in France.
