Marianne earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a master's degree in computer science from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a doctorate degree in leadership studies from the University of San Diego. 

Marianne works as a leadership and development consultant. Previously, she was a Colonel in the Marine Corp.
