Sharlene is originally from Washington but relocated to Gastonia, NC in 2017. She earned a bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies and a master's degree in Biblical Counseling from Fort Wayne Theological Seminary Bible School and is currently working towards a bachelor's in business administration at Trinity Washington University. She has engaged in prison ministry over the last three years.

Sharlene founded a non-profit organization, Unity 4 Us Outreach, in 2018. She has also worked as a coordinator at the Howard University Hospital and as a quality analyst for AmerisourceBergen.
