Keedra earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education with a minor in history from Chowan University, her master's degree in education from Cambridge College, and her doctorate degree in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

Keedra is currently the chief human resources officer for Warren County Schools. She previously worked as a principal for Weldon City Schools, an assistant principal for Edgecombe County Public Schools, and as a teacher for Northampton County Schools.
