Wayne is from Nahunta, NC. He is a member of Pikes Crossroad Pentecostal Holiness Church and a past member of Wayne County Planning Board.

Wayne worked for the Nahunta Fire Department for 52 years and served on the board. He is the owner of Nahunta Storage and a partner in the Nahunta Softball Complex. He previously ran Wayne Aycock Trucking, as well as working as a distribution supervisor and safety manager.

Wayne Aycock currently serves as a Wayne County Commissioner. He was elected in 2012 and is serving his third term. He was later elected as the chairman.
