Kenny is from Stonewall, North Carolina. He studied at Carolina Bible College and Craven Community College. He is married and has four children. 

Kenny is a certified residential real estate appraiser trainee for Dana Outlaw Appraisals, as well as doing excavation, demolition, and land development freelance. He was previously deputy sheriff for in Craven County, a reserve police officer
in the Town of Bridgeton, and a member of the board of trustees for Pamlico Community College.
