Tom is a lifelong resident of the Allenton community. He graduated from Littlefield High School and studied at Southeastern Community College. He attends Antioch Baptist Church. Tom also serves within the Allenton Volunteer Fire Department, and as the president of the Robeson County Fire Chief's Association.

Tom has been the co-owner of Bargain House, Inc.
