Professional Background and Legal Experience

David received a bachelor's degree in industrial relations and a law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He currently lives in Forsyth County with his wife, Kyla, and two children. 

David was previously a JAG Officer for the United States Air Force, and Associate Attorney at Bailey & Thomas

David E. Sipprell is currently the District Court Judge for Judicial District 11A. He was elected to the position in 2013 and has served three terms. He was also an assistant district attorney in Forsyth County District from 2002 to 2012.

Community Involvement

- District Court judges hear civil, criminal, and juvenile cases. Civil cases dealing with divorce, child custody, and child support are heard in District Court. 
- Under the District Court, the magistrate can try small claims cases ($10,000 or less), landlord eviction cases, and suits for recovery of personal property. A magistrate is an independent judicial officer, recognized by the North Carolina Constitution as an officer of the district court.
