Kimberly earned her bachelor's degree from Mars Hill College and her law degree from the Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law.

Kimberly has worked as a privately practicing attorney. She served in the U.S. Air Force.

Kimberly Gasperson-Justice is the current district court judge for Judicial District 29B. She was appointed in 2019, and is serving her first term. Kimberly was also the clerk of court for Henderson County. She was elected in 2006 served three terms until her appointment to the bench.

- District Court judges hear civil, criminal, and juvenile cases. Civil cases dealing with divorce, child custody, and child support are heard in District Court. 
- Under the District Court, the magistrate can try small claims cases ($10,000 or less), landlord eviction cases, and suits for recovery of personal property. A magistrate is an independent judicial officer, recognized by the North Carolina Constitution as an officer of the district court. 
- District Court Judges are elected for a four-year term. Elections are partisan.
