Linda worked at the Stanly County Department of Social Services for 17 years and later as a substitute teacher at South Stanly Middle School. She has worked as a social studies and English Language Arts teacher since.

Linda Campbell is the mayor of Norwood. She was elected in 2020 after running unsuccessfully in 2018. Previously, she was a member of the Norwood Town Council, elected in 2012 and serving as Mayor Pro Tem for 2 years.
