Tanneshia earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Greensboro Collage and a master's degree in school administration from North Carolina A&T State University. She is married and has a family. 

Tanneshia is an an assistant principal in Guilford County. Previously, she worked as a behavior coach/regional teaching and learning coach and as a teacher.
