Tom grew up in Richmond County, NC. He attended the Certified Auctioneers Institute at Indiana University Bloomington. Tom currently lives in Pinehurst with his wife Janice, with whom he has 4 children and 11 grandchildren. Previously, he was appointed by Governor Jim Martin to serve 2 terms on the North Carolina Auctioneers Licensing Board and has been elected to the North Carolina Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame.
