Kevin was born and raised in Macon County, NC. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Appalachian State University. He is married to Beth and they have 2 children. The family attends Holly Springs Baptist Church, where Kevin serves as a deacon.

Kevin is the owner of 2 insurance agencies, The Corbin Agency in Franklin, NC, and the Blue Ridge Insurance Group in Seneca, SC. Additionally, he has been involved with the Blue Cross Blue Shield NC Agents Advisory Board and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2013.
