Bob was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated with a bachelor of science degree in physics from the College of William and Mary in Virginia. Bob also received his master of business administration from Stanford University.

Bob is currently the Treasurer of a private company in Charlotte. He is a former Certified Management Accountant. Bob used to volunteer with Peace Corps.
