Robert Jackson currently serves as a state senator in District 31. He was elected in 2018 and is serving his 3rd term. He previously served on the New York City Council for 12 years, representing parts of Harlem, Washington Heights, and Inwood. He also ran for Manhattan borough president in 2013 and for state senator in 2014 and 2016 but did not win.
