Susan was born and raised in West Lawn, Pennsylvania, and has lived in Wyomissing for the last 28 years. She earned her bachelor's degree in education from Villanova University. She is currently finishing her master’s degree in education at Albright College.

Susan has spent over 20 years working as a teacher in both public and private school settings, most recently as a middle school teacher at St. Ignatius Loyola Regional School in West Lawn. She has also served on the Wyomissing Area School District Board of Directors.
