Mary grew up in Narberth, PA. She earned her bachelor's degree in business administration and management from The Wharton School and her master's degree in American government and politics from the University of Pennsylvania. She and her husband, Bob Winkelman, live in Narberth. They have 3 children. 

Mary previously worked as an associate director of business services for the University of Pennsylvania. 

Mary Josephine Daley is a state representative in State Assembly District 148. She was first elected in 2012. She previously served on the Narberth Borough Council for 20 years, including 10 years as their president.
