Lisha was raised in Berks County and graduated from Governor Mifflin high school. She has an applied associate's degree in medical technology from Reading Area Community College and a bachelor's degree in biology and ecology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She also attended Cornell University's School of Agriculture and Life Sciences. She is married to her husband, with whom she has 6 children. She is a Christian. Her family are active members of St. Stephen's Polish National Catholic Church.

Lisha worked as an environmental education specialist for the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. She also worked for state and National Parks and local organizations and as a hematology laboratory technician.
