Drew earned his bachelor's degree from the State University of New York, Albany in 1997, and a bachelor's degree from Excelsior College in 1997. He currently resides in Shelton, Washington with his wife Danelle and has 2 children.

Drew served in the U.S. Navy from 1992 to 1998. He previously worked in the financial sector, founding Falcon Financial, Inc., and served as managing partner of Mountain Lakes Capital Management LLC.
