Scott Berta is from Coweta County. He has a bachelor’s degree in forest resources from the University of Georgia and a master’s in public administration from the University of West Georgia. He and his wife, Valerie, have four sons and live in Newnan with their two dogs.

Scott is the manager of industrial development at Electric Cities of Georgia, where he recruits and expands industries that provide high-quality jobs across the state. He previously worked as a project manager and GIS/site specialist at the Coweta County Development Authority, where he led environmental assessments and secured major capital investments in the region. From 2008 to 2019, he was the managing partner of Tree Protection Supply. He has also worked as a consulting forester for private landowners since 2001.

Scott Berta's campaign for Newnan City Council Member, District 2 is his first entry into politics.
